MD Surgery Continuum of Care:

Step 1 – Consultation with MD Surgery Physician
Step 2 – Pre-Operative Screening & Testing
Step 3 – Pre-Operative Surgical Appointments are covered if surgery is warranted
Step 4 – All inclusive Surgery (includes anesthesia, outpatient or ambulatory facility charges, surgeon fees, implants and devices (etc…)
Step 5 – Post-Op Appointments and Treatments Up to 90 Days

Bundled payments, also known as episode-based payment or packaged pricing, are a single payment based on expected costs for clinically-defined episodes of care.  Over the last couple of years the bundled payment methodology has become an accepted cost containment practice within the workers compensation environment.  The bundled payment covers the facility fee, physician’s fee, anesthesiology, implants and instrumentation, pain management, rehabilitation and all other care costs for a specific period of time. MD Surgery bundled payments cover surgery through 60 to 90 days postoperatively.

MD Surgery provides advantages to providers and patients by removing inefficiency and redundancy from patient-care protocols, such as duplicate testing, delivering unnecessary care and failing to adequately provide postoperative care to the injured employee and workers compensation payer.
